The Long Island Community Microgrid Project was a 2015–16 NY Prize Stage 1 feasibility study, not a constructed microgrid. Its preferred concept would have coordinated up to 15 MW of solar, a central 5 MW/25 MWh battery, three smaller facility batteries, existing 6 MW substation peakers and critical-site generators across two East Hampton feeders. The resilient boundary included water pumping and fire protection plus thousands of customers, far beyond the police-substation address in the legacy record.

- Feasibility completed; proposed system not built. East Hampton was absent from the eleven NY Prize Stage 2 awardees, and the Town's current renewable-energy roadmap still describes LICMP as a 2016 study while recommending that the Town develop future large-scale microgrid partnerships. A separate NextEra 5 MW/40 MWh utility battery entered service in East Hampton in 2018, but it is not the proposed 5 MW/25 MWh LICMP community microgrid and must remain a separate record.
