Baltimore Gas and Electric proposed the Edmonson Village public-purpose microgrid in its 2015 Maryland pilot filing. The design was a roughly 3 MW natural-gas system serving a cluster of critical commercial and public loads in Baltimore City. Maryland's Public Service Commission denied BGE's two-site proposal without prejudice in July 2016, so this was never a commissioned microgrid. Later literature's label 'milligrid' describes the proposed multi-node topology, not a built demonstration.
